We are thrilled to announce that internationally-acclaimed West Australian author and screenwriter, Craig Silvey, will be joining us at the College for an ‘evening in conversation’ on Thursday, 13 May. Craig’s latest release Honeybee has just won the 2021 Indie Book Award for Fiction and is long-listed for the Literacy Fiction Book of the Year 2021 ABIA Awards. His previous book Jasper Jones has won plaudits in three continents, including an International Dublin Literary Award shortlisting, a Michael J. Printz Award Honor, and a Miles Franklin Literary Award shortlisting. Honeybee is Craig’s third novel, which he explains “speaks to the importance of representation, the importance of acceptance and empathy and the transformative power of literature”.

During this special interactive Penrhos event, Craig will discuss the origins of the story behind Honeybee and welcome student questions. Books will be available for purchase on the night and Craig will be available to sign copies.

Bookings to this event are essential.
