While this is our final PCN for 2020, there are still plenty of events and activities to take place in the final weeks of term. Junior School Speech Day will commence at 1pm on Friday, 4 December in the Rixon Theatre – further details to be provided.
On Friday, 4 December the Secondary School Speech Night will take place commencing at 6pm in the Rixon Theatre. This is an opportunity for the Secondary School community to come together and celebrate student achievement and success through academic, pastoral and co-curricular awards and in drama and music performances. You can view the Speech Night program at this link.
If you join us on campus for either event, please remember to observe COVID safe guidelines – do not attend if you are unwell or suffering from cold like symptoms, observe physical distancing where possible, follow instructions relating to seating and use hand sanitiser where possible.
Parents of Secondary School students will have received an email outlining arrangements for the final week of term commencing Monday, 30 November including a modified timetable that will operate on Friday, 4 December.
End of year reports will be provided to parents as an email attachment. Junior School reports will be issued the week commencing Monday, 30 November and Secondary reports the week commencing Monday, 7 December.
We have a number of staff leaving us at the conclusion of the school year, many of whom have been undertaking short term contracts with us across all areas of the College’s operations. We sincerely thank these staff for their loyalty and professionalism and wish them well. We will also be farewelling some staff who have been with us for a significant period of time and have made a lasting contribution to the College.
Mr Nathan Ducker leaves the Junior School after 19 years of service. Whether it be as Junior School Classroom teacher, Learning Technology Coordinator or through his promotion of and role in the development of STEM opportunities for students, his contribution has been significant and long–lasting.
Mrs Helen Hepworth has given 26 years of dedicated service to the College. Over the last 12 years and in the role as Deputy Head of Junior School, her high level of professional knowledge and commitment to students and families has had a major impact in the Junior School. Helen’s kindness and compassion leaves us with wonderful memories of a very special person, who will be greatly missed by us all.
Mr Peter Philips leaves the College after an incredible 41 years of service to Penrhos in the Maintenance Department. Peter has seen many changes at the College over this time and has provided amazing support to all of those with whom he has worked.

Introducing Kalea Haran
Recently we have been introducing incoming Principal Kalea Haran to the community through a series of videos sharing her vision for Penrhos in 2021. We are now excited for our students to get to know Kalea and love that she has provided the Junior School with these lovely Storytime clips from her favourite children’s books. We hope families will enjoy her rendition of Mrs Pepperpot.
If you have a question for Kalea, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will ask for Kalea’s thoughts on the most popular topics before she arrives in January 2021. Read more at here https://penrhos.wa.edu.au/about/principal/
