Do you have the skill, experience and passion to give back to our current Penrhos students through coaching an IGSSA team? Penrhos College requires softball, waterpolo and AFL coaches for our upcoming 2020 IGSSA season

Softball Coaches

We are seeking up to six softball coaches for various student teams, aged from Year 7 to Year 11. Trials/training commence Monday, 21 September and the season concludes on Thursday 26 November. Coaches are required at the times and dates as follows:

  • Coaches of Yr 7-9 teams – Monday 6.45-8am weekly training and generally Wednesday afternoon games (3.30-5.30pm)*
  • Coaches of Yr 10/11 teams – Monday 3.45-5pm weekly training and a one day, all IGSSA school competition on Friday, 30 October

** Scheduling of fixtures means the same coach could potentially coach both a Year 7-9 team AND a Year 10-11 team also, if the desire and availability was there.

  • Coaches of Yr 7-8 teams – Monday 6.45-8am weekly training and generally Wednesday afternoon games (3.30-5.30pm)*
  • Coaches of Yr 9-10 teams – Tuesday 6.45-8am weekly training and generally Thursday afternoon games (3.30-5.30pm)*

In addition to the time commitment above, there will be an important ‘COACH THE COACH’ session held for all coaches early Term 4. You will be paid to attend this ‘coaches only’ session. The learning intention of this practical and administrative session is to provide focus for training strategies, activities, game day planning and some tips on developing both the junior/weaker teams and extending our advanced players etc., as well as logistics on taking team attendances, awards input and risk management.

We offer competitive pay rates depending on your qualification.

Please email Lisa Bailie on bailil@penrhos.wa.edu.au with your name, email, qualification/experience level, which grade(s) you are available and willing to coach for our 2020 season and phone contact, and the Sports Department will contact you.

Expressions of interest close Thursday, 10 September 2020.
