Hearts in action
Throughout Term 1, our students have been actively engaged in various community service activities, showcasing their dedication and generosity. They have volunteered as Dramafest raffle ticket sellers, supported the Junior School Easter Family Picnic, Junior School interhouse and interschool swimming carnivals as well as the Junior School summer games.
A highlight was the World’s Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation, where 28 students and 11 staff raised more than $35,000. Additionally, students have assisted the College with welcoming parents at the Parent Teacher Night, showing new families around the College and being chaperones at year group socials.
They also went above and beyond by donating their pocket money and time to create incredible art packs for the Starlight Foundation, cozy blankets for foster children at Uniting WA, essential hygiene packs for Margaret Court Community Outreach and new mum packs for King Edward Memorial Hospital. Our Year 7 students crafted delightful Easter Bunny Bags for Regis Aged Care, adorable Joey Pouches for Kanyana Wildlife and vital sanitary packs for Share the Dignity. They even knitted squares to make warm blankets and created beanies and toys for Save the Children. The dedication and creativity of our students in supporting these wonderful organisations is truly awe-inspiring and heartwarming!
Moreover, many of our students have taken the initiative to find their own community service opportunities outside of school. Their efforts are so varied and impressive that we simply don't have enough space to list them all! From volunteering at local shelters to organising neighbourhood clean-ups, our students are making a remarkable impact in countless ways.
