We are delighted to share the outstanding results attained by our 2017 Year 12 cohort. We are extremely proud of the academic accomplishments of our 2017 Year 12s, especially taken in context with the broad range of co-curricular, community service and leadership activities that these students involved themselves in. As a Year group, they visibly embodied the Penrhos College philosophy of the whole person paradigm of mind, heart, body and spirit and our College motto, “Strive for the Highest”.

The academic accomplishments of the Year 12s were the result of incredible commitment to their academic “personal best” throughout their senior secondary years of schooling, especially in Year 12. We also acknowledge that the foundations to the students’ learning are established from the very beginning of their learning journey and we are thankful to all who have directly or indirectly influenced these outcomes. Our academic staff worked extremely hard with the students both in and out of class, as teachers and mentors, to enable the girls to achieve to the very best of their potential. We know that high expectations are something that all members of our community hold – parents, staff and students. We acknowledge the support of the Year 12 parents in contributing to these excellent results.

Each year, we aim to achieve consistency in our WACE results and 2017 was no exception.

We continue to place a strong emphasis on the quality of teaching and learning together with the assessment and moderation of our teaching and learning programs, particularly in Years 11 and 12. Our goal is always to improve the performance of all of our Year 12 students, whatever taking the ATAR or Alternative Vocational and Education Training Pathway. We provide all Year 10 students with carefully considered course selection advice however we have never denied a student the opportunity to pursue either the ATAR or VET Pathway, should that be her choice. In 2018, we will continue to review the delivery of our teaching, learning, assessment and reporting procedures to ensure the best possible outcome for our students across all Year groups in Junior and Secondary Schools.
